Conferencing successfully – since 1648
Münster had its “baptism of fire” as a congress city on the European stage over 370 years ago, in the negotiations culminating in the Peace of Westphalia. And since then, the conditions for conferencing successfully in Münster have got even better …
Münster counts as one of the longest-standing and most attractive congress locations in Germany. As a university city and former member of the Hanseatic League, as the city of the Peace of Westphalia and as one of the member cities of “Historic Highlights of Germany”, Münster offers everything needed to make a congress a success: 60 hotels with a total of more than 5,000 beds and conferencing venues like the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland offer plenty of capacity for major international congresses. And unusual venues such as the GOP-Varieté, the Allwetterzoo or the Speicher 10 promise to give special flair to any event.
Moreover, Münster Osnabrück International Airport (FMO) is only 25 minutes’ drive away; this means that all regions of Europe are only a few hours’ distant at most, with the result that also international congresses and events can easily be held in Münster.
For information on all aspects of conferencing, the team of the Congress Bureau at Münster Marketing is available to answer all questions about venues and accommodation and provide not just advice, but also practical assistance. The Congress Bureau opens all doors of the city to event organisers. And as if that were not enough: the service of the City Congress Bureau is free.
The Congress and Conference Guide Münster offers a comprehensive overview of Münster as a conference city and presents the relevant service providers and what they offer. The guide can be found at www.stadt-muenster.de/en/tourismus/city-of-conferences.html.
