Museums in Münster
LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur
Since its foundation in 1908 the Museum has been the centre for fine arts in Westphalia. It presents over a thousand years of art history, from the Middle Ages to modern times.
The museum’s attraction lies not only in its permanent collection; it has also achieved international renown with such exhibitions as “Sculpture Projects,” presentations on the work of August Macke, or the great Council of Europe exhibition on the Peace of Westphalia in 1998.
