Exhibitions in Münster
Consistently fresh impetuses
The permanent exhibitions in Münster's museums never get boring by virtue of their number alone. And anyone interested in the special exhibitions is quickly spoilt for a choice.
The museums of Münster have interesting exhibitions throughout the year, including permanent exhibitions such as the Cremer Collection, displaying high-calibre works from the 1960s and 1970s in the LWL-Museum for Art and Cultural. Furthermore, visitors from near and far are drawn time and again to the extraordinary special exhibitions.
"Two Gray Double Mirrors for a Pendulum" by Gerhard Richter
The painter and sculptor Gerhard Richter has created a work of art in the baroque Dominikanerkirche (church) in Münster that is sure to assume pride of place on Germany’s map for those interested in culture and art: "Two Gray Double Mirrors for a Pendulum" consists of a Foucault pendulum with a metal sphere weighing 48 kilograms that swings in the centre of the building between four upright, rectangular, mirrored glass panels on a stainless steel cord with a length of 28.75 metres.
