Peace Movement
The starting point of the core time of the anniversary year was deliberately set by the city's schoolchildren.
Almost 7,000 of them marched from their schools to the cathedral square to demonstrate for peace - a unique and moving image that left its mark on the entire city on the morning of that day. Since the beginning of the year, various project days had been organized by the city and the Theater im Pumpenhaus at the schools, which brought peace work and movements to life in an artistic and scientific way. These activities found their expression in the central rally on the cathedral square, which was organized by pupils for pupils. From live music to performances and interviews, a moving demonstration was created that powerfully demonstrated the value and importance of peace.
